Our original posting of this photo was deleted because of a major spam "comment" infestation. Too bad, since it had a detailed description of each of these steps in making a flute! We'll get around to replacing that text in more detail soon, but here's the short version:
1. Raw bamboo pole 2. Pole drilled out and scorched 3. Loose carbon sanded off 4. Hardwood lip plate being glued on 5. Blowhole rough-drilled 6. Blowhole refined, fingerholes drilled, entire flute re-sanded 7. Stain and finish coat applied 8. Flute corked, endcap fitted, and reinforcement bindings applied-- all finished! In this case the entire process took about ten or eleven days
